Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded service designed to empower individuals to live as independently as possible by providing tailored assistance and supervision with everyday activities while fostering skill development and confidence.
SIL support is delivered in your home and can include help with essential tasks like cooking, cleaning, personal care, or managing daily routines. It also supports community involvement, such as attending medical appointments, accessing public transport, or participating in social activities.
While SIL funding covers the cost of support staff and related services, it does not cover expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, or accommodation costs, including Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). By combining SIL with other supports, participants can achieve a balanced, independent lifestyle tailored to their unique goals and needs.
